Indian cinema suffers among universally lockdown to fight the spread of novel coronavirus. Many films have delayed their release and, with the rising cases of the virus, it does not look like we will be seeing them in theatres anytime soon. Many film producers are moving towards over–the-top (OTT) platforms, digital streaming media services, to release their movies. As more films get ready to join, here is the list of films Bollywood to be released on the OTT platform amid the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

Originally titled Kizie and Manny, Dil Bechara is the Hindi version of American author John Green’s 2012 novel ‘The Fault in Our Stars.’ The film is having late Sushant Singh Rajput and debutant Sanjana Sanghi in lead roles.
Featuring Akshay and Kiara in lead roles, Laxmmi Bomb is a remake of the Tamil film Muni 2: Kanchana. The movie is a horror-comedy where Akshay plays a man possessed by the spirit of a transgender person. The first look attracted a lot of eyeballs, where Akshay is seen draped in a saree, dressing up as a woman.The release date hasn’t been announced yet but the film is set for a digital release on Disney+ Hotstar.
Anurag Basu is recognized for his exceptional take on mainstream cinema. Ludo is the next venture of the director after his previous outing, Jagga Jasoos. The multi-starer includes Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Pankaj Tripathi in pivotal roles. Ludo, an ensemble drama, tells the story of four couples in a city, each having and handling complex issues. Slated for an early release this year, it will soon be available on Netflix.
The film is having Janhvi Kapoor in the lead, with Angad Bedi and Pankaj Tripathi in essential roles. It is based on the life of flight lieutenant Gunjan Saxena, universally known as ’the Kargil Girl’. She was the first Indian Air Force woman officer who went to war and played an important role in rescuing injured soldiers during the Kargil War in 1999. Dharma Productions & Zee Studios are the joint producers of the film. Slated for an early release this year, it will soon be available on Netflix.
Another Bollywood film getting in the list of biopics this season is Shakuntala Devi, with Vidya Balan as the protagonist. This biographical drama revolves around the journey of the real-life genius Shakuntala Devi, generally known as the ‘human computer’. She was also a huge mathematician, writer and astrologer. Along with the incredible Vidya Balan, Sanya Malhotra, Jisshu Sengupta, and Amit Sadh will also be playing important roles. Earlier slated to hit the silver screens, the makers had to reschedule it due to the pandemic. As a result, the film is now set for a digital release on Amazon Prime Video soon.
Manoj Bajpayee dons the role of Ganpat Bhonsle, a retired cop, who remains a tight-lipped viewer as the debate over migrants living in Mumbai intensifies in the film. However, he is finally forced to speak up after befriending a North Indian girl and her brother, who are attacked by locals. The film also features Abhishek Banerjee, Inshita Chakraborty Singh and Santosh Juvekar in prominent roles.
