Kanpur Shelter Home Case:
A probe into the Kanpur shelter home case, where 57 girls tested positive for coronavirus, has revealed that the administration didn’t seal the building after the first case was recorded on June 15. Also, the shelter home meant for 100 girls housed as many as 171.

A day afterward, eight more girls tested positive — taking the sum tally of infected girls in the Kanpur shelter home to 58.
At present, 57 girls and an employee at the Kanpur shelter have been admitted to different hospitals in the city.

“All 57 girls and the woman staffer of the girl’s home have been admitted to hospitals,” said Shukla.
The refuge home also has a women’s defense home on its campus. Samples of all the inmates were negative, said Shukla.
